• Captured three Grand Slam crowns and a season-record five ATP World Tour Masters 1000 titles with six wins in finals coming over rival Rafael Nadal… Of his 10 titles during season, nine came over Top 10 opponents…Overall he was 20-2 vs. Top 10 foes (last year went 4-8), first player with 20 Top 10 wins since Ivan Lendl (22) in 1985
• Became only third player (since 1990) to win 30-more ATP World Tour Masters 1000 matches in a season as he compiled a 33-1 match record
• Won his first seven tournaments (Australian Open, Dubai, Indian Wells, Miami, Belgrade, Madrid, Rome) and compiled a 41-match winning streak (43 going back to last year’s Davis Cup final) before his run ended with four-set SF loss to Roger Federer at Roland Garros…It was best streak to begin a season since John McEnroe’s 42 in 1984

• Became first player to win a title in World No. 1 tournament debut since Pete Sampras in April 1993 in Hong Kong
• In final Grand Slam tournament at US Open, saved two match pts. in five-set SF win over Federer and followed with four-set win over Nadal to earn his fourth career Grand Slam title
• One week later, played in Davis Cup SF vs Argentina and retired in second set vs. del Potro with a back injury…Withdrew from pair of Asian tournaments before returning week of Oct. 31 in Basel where he reached SF (l. to Nishikori) and QF at ATP Masters 1000 Paris where he withdrew due to shoulder injury
• Set an all-time men’s record in season prize money with $10,779,803 (coming into London)
