After a stellar first eight months of the season, Djokovic has struggled with injury in the fall, retiring from a Davis Cup match in September then missing several weeks due to a back injury. He also was hampered by a shoulder injury during a semi-final loss in his first event back in Basel (an injury that caused him to withdraw from his quarter-final match in Paris). But after a week off he says he is fit to play: “I have been serving almost 100% the last two or three days, so for me the shoulder is fine at this moment. I can say it’s recovered and ready to compete.”
